[NEW MENU LAUNCHING] BOTTEGA RISTORANTE

Here I am again! Feel so thankful that I can share with you on this writing. Today I got my day-off (just for one day) and It's rainy outside. Let me take you to the Modern European Concept Restaurant in Mega Kuningan, Jakarta, BOTTEGA RISTORANTE. I got chance to taste their new menu launching yesterday which is inspired by Rustic Italian Cooking. These new menu was well-prepared by their one and only Head Chef, Gian Andrian.

On this event, Bottega has collaborated with Urban Remedy Indonesia, the first and the pioneer cold-pressed company in Indonesia. They claimed that their juicers extract maximum nutrients from the most fresh, high quality and 100% organic ingredients. 4 keys in their products are Aids Weight Loss, Boost Energy, Improve Skin, and Strengthen Immune System.

That's all the restaurant tour. Now, lets get going to the food gallery. They have launched new menu which is inspired by rustic Italian cooking (perfect balance, simple, and fresh ingredients. Here are the highlights

1. Squid Ink Risotto with Calamari
Squid Ink
This is made from Arborio Rice (an Italian rice that cooked with turmeric paste) which is cooked with squid ink and has savory and creamy taste. Additional fried crispy calamari on the top. I think their ingredients on this menu is not in the right composition. I don't taste any flavour on the rice (it's just plain) and It makes me eat fried crispy calamari only. They should make some improvement to it. Especially on the taste and creamy level. I think this menu gets better with Cuttlefish on its ingredients.

2. Turmeric Risotto with Squid Ink Crackers and Octopus

This is my favourite compare to Squid Ink Risotto because they use a common ingredients when cooking risotto. Yes, It's turmeric. They did a good job on this menu. A bit cruchy on the top (squid ink crackers), chewy in the middle (grilled octopus), and fluffy on the below (turmeric risotto).

3. Sweet Corn Cappellacci with Mushroom and Sage
Cappellacci
Cappellacci is pasta made from durum wheat flour in a shape or you can call it pasta dumpling. Some of cappellacci described as stuffed pasta squares or rounds. In this menu, that cappellacci is filled with sweet corn puree, cooked with brown butter sauce, minced mushroom, and fresh magenta sage. I think this has a unique taste that I never tasted before. The sweet corn is just on point, blend perfectly with cappellacci and minched mushroom. So creamy, this is COOL.

4. Home Made Pici with Tomato Bacon Sauce
Pici
Pici is hand rolled pasta cooked or like fat spaghetti which is cooked with marinara sauce, herbs, beef bacon (you can choose beef or pork bacon). Sorry guys, I gotta say its flavour not so delicious. Some ingredients is in not right composition. I think It has to be more salty than too sour.

5. Shepherd's Pie
Shepherd's Pie
Shepherd's Pie is also known as Cottage Pie. This pie is basically a casserole with a layer of cooked meat and vegetables. In British, people rather call it "meat-pie" with a mashed potato on the top/as layer. Their Chef using "chicken" as base of this pie. The taste is just OK for me, but still worth to eat. Hope they can improve the ingredients instead of using chicken. Make it strong.

6. Purple Yam Sponge Cake
Purple Yam
The yam light flavour so felt in my mouth when I bite this sponge cake. High Five for this cake since not so many restaurant using yam as the ingredients. Hmm, I think this cake has to be a bigger slice and make some changes on its presentation because is not so catchy at all.

7. Freshly Baked Chocolate Chip Cookies in A Pan With Rum and Raisin Ice Cream

Rum and Raisin
Wow, so long for the menu name. Big cookies in a pan and accompanied by Rum and Raisin ice cream in the glass. For me, I fell nothing surprised on this menu. Just like an ordinary dessert. Still worth for those want to taste the flavour, but I guess, that's not for a repetition.
