As I said before, I preferred TERAS DHARMAWANGSA if we talk about food of entire PLATARAN DINING group. But for the ambience, my preferences goes to today's topic "PLATARAN DHARMAWANGSA" Seems like this is the last part I wrote about their group that located in Jakarta. As my first experience to their Plataran Menteng, I do compare with the Dharmawangsa version. And it is totally different from concept until food. You will more cultural thing inside PLATARAN DHARMAWANGSA.

Zoom In and see what I found, PLATARAN DHARMAWANGSA becomes TOP 5 Best Restaurant in Jakarta based on TripAdvisor. Congratulation! I think their cultural design makes them become the best. I felt relax being there. Additional the breezy wind goes around me. Husshhh Husshss. Lets call it HEAVEN.

Please, never skip this spot. You won't find this scenery from other. Vintage bicycle, coconut, and green back drop behind. Perfect combination. Next to this spot, you will find a statue lying beautifully on the floor.

Situated in the elite residential neighbourhood of Kebayoran Baru, PLATARAN DHARMAWANGSA presents authentic Indonesian cuisine within an atmosphere of Javanese royalty. Since its inception, the restaurant has consistently received recognition and awards, including ‘Best Indonesian Restaurant in Jakarta’ by the prestigious Indonesia Tatler, and is the choice dining venue for Jakarta’s high society and expatriate crowd. This exclusive venue & dining place stands on an area of 1500m2 (excluding parking area), with a cozy and refreshing ambience, typical of the elite Dharmawangsa feel.

Designed to resemble a traditional royal Javanese family compound, the restaurant includes a 150year-old wooden heritage Joglo house, wooden Javanese pavilions, a prayer house aged more than 50 years old, and an elegant glass-roofed conservatory, overlooking a beautiful tempo doeloe style garden that is characteristic of houses in this exclusive area.

The concept of Plataran Dharmawangsa represents the classic residence of Javanese royalty consisting of four rooms - the Sedap Malam Room, Kenanga Room, Melati Room and Kantil Room. Sedap Malam Room is the main dining room located inside an authentic Joglo house aged approximately 150 years or 3 generations, with an 80-seater dining capacity. Melati Room, an area with a capacity of 40 seated dining, is a conservatory room housed under a transparent glass roof and equipped with air conditioning, where patrons get to enjoy the vibrant greenery of Plataran Dharmawangsa’s garden. Kenanga Room is a semi outdoor room especially constructed for all patrons who long to enjoy the fresh breeze underneath a transparent roof, with a capacity of 20 seating capacity. These three rooms are interconnected to each other and can be used altogether. Meanwhile, Kantil Room is found in a separate authentic Limasan house aged 2 generations, equipped with its own facilities, and can accommodate a maximum of 60 seated dining. Limasan is an original Javanese house consisting of four rectangle plans housed with four roofs comprising two kejen/cocor roofs and two parallelogram bronjong roofs.

This Indonesia favorite food is always available on entire group of Plataran. Introduce you this Fried rice with green basil, prawn, and squid. Tasty indeed and always be my comfort food.

Toasted kalian with garlic topped of kalian leaf slaw and spicy tiny sea fish. A quite good vegetable with crunchy texture.

3. Ayam Dharmawangsa (IDR 129K)

Chicken high scallopini topped with union mango slaw, pomelo, and sweet sour spicy sauce. Highly recommended, all ingredients are just on point. You can feel fusion flavor on the chicken.

Aubergine chips with chili, garlic, and chicken floss. I treat this food as snack, can't stop eating. Damn, I love this so much.

Silky gourd soup, quail egg, fishball, chicken, and shimeji.

6. Bebek Manggis Curry (IDR 125K)

This is a seasonal menu of PLATARAN DHARMAWANGSA. Fortunately I got chance to taste it. Impressive, duck meets curry and mangosteen. Such a perfect combination. Don't need to worry with its meat, soft for bite.

7. Loempia Gang Lombok (IDR 69K)

Bamboo shoot spring roll with chicken and shrimp. Crunchy, toppings are all right, dipping sauce makes it more delicious. Surely, this will slow your day and your peace will grow stronger suddenly after bite by bite.

Never miss this Onde-Onde. Stuffed glutinous rice ball, coated with sesame seed and filled with red bean paste. Better experience while in the heat.

Glutinous rice steamed with coconut milk and served with durian custard. Durian always attracts me with its strong aroma. Absolutely, this one is tasty and so comfort for tummy.
